The Six Gosvamis
A Comprehensive Guide to Śrī Vṛndāvana Dhāma
Sri Chaitanya had many important followers. He Himself did not leave a large body of writing, very little in fact. Yet Sri Chaitanya did charge His followers with establishing the authenticity of His teachings to close disciples. He instructed them to write and publish books on the science of Krishna Consciousness.
The six most important followers, or disciples, were very renounced monks, who lived out their lives completely dedicated to Sri Chaitanya, practicing the tenets of Krishna Conscious life, constantly absorbed in hearing and chanting the Transcendental topics of Sri Krishna. They are known as the "Six Gosvamis"; Srila Rupa, Srila Sanatana, Srila Raghunatha dasa, Srila Raghunatha Bhatta, Srila Jiva, and Srila Gopal Bhatta.
All of them were accomplished scholars, some had government positions, yet after contacting the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu they renounced those material activities for the life of Krishna Consciousess, in order to dive deep into the nectarine ocean of love of Krishna.
Here in this section you can have the rare opportunity to associate with these Divine Souls. by hearing of their lives and teachings.
