Vrinda devi at Kamyavana
A Comprehensive Guide to Śrī Vṛndāvana Dhāma
Sri Sri Krishna and Balarama reside eternally in the transcendental realm of Vrindavan, and by the causeless mercy of Their pure devotee, Srila Prabhupada, we have the opportunity to serve Them. Srila Prabhupada’s service in Vrindavan has expanded considerably in the past 25 years, and several new projects have been started since the Sri Krishna Balarama temple was opened in 1975. In 1989, a temple of Srimati Vrinda Devi and two sacred kundas, Vrinda Kunda and Gupta Kunda, were donated to ISKCON Vrindavan by Sri Baba Madhava Das. Baba Madhava Das was a venerable Gaudiya Vaisnava who had great respect for Srila Prabhupada and the preaching activities of ISKCON. Since 1989, the ISKCON devotees have maintained and expanded the Vrinda Kunda project, and a new temple is presently under construction.
This opportunity to serve Srimati Vrinda Devi at her eternal residence is especially significant because the importance of her worship is accepted in all Vaisnava traditions. Lord Krishna doesn’t accept a single offering without the presence of Vrinda Devi in the form of Tulasi Devi, and it is only by her grace that a devotee is allowed entrance into Vrindavana.
